Our family spent a week in Washington and I can't think of a better way to end our summer adventures. First few days we stayed in birch bay which is a small town on the bay 2 hours outside of Seattle. To be honest I was a little nervous at first because it was a small town + didn’t seem to be much to do. But of course we ended up finding tons of family friendly fun things to do so I wanted to share.
Our family stayed at the Sandcastle hotel. While it was right on the water with a great brewery next door, if we went again, I would definitely want to stay at the Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine which was about 10 minutes away. It was a little higher end and had tons of amenities such as complimentary bikes to ride, s’mores for bonfires and so much more.
Some of the fun things we did in the area which I would recommend is picking berries at Barbies Berries, spending the day at the Birch Bay water park, going kayaking, hiking the falls in Whatcom Falls, and getting drinks at the Beach Cat Brewery.
We finished up the last couple days of the trip in Seattle and loved it. We went to a Mariners game {which I highly recommend}, checked out Pike Place where they throw the fish, saw the gum wall, took the kids to Artists Park and so much more.
Since the Canada border is so close I definitely recommend spending at least a day in Vancouver. We checked out the shops + restaurants in Gastown, did some shopping on Robston st, and took a ferry over to Granville island. We definitely would love to go back + spend more time there. Overall we had THE BEST week and can’t wait for another adventure. If you have any questions about Washington or our trip don’t hesitate to reach out.
