PATTERN MIXING

PATTERN MIXING- Jaclyn De Leon Style- Sharing all the tips and tricks for mixing different patterns together

To me fashion is all about having fun and trying new things.  I always love to experiment with new trends and get outside my comfort zone. One of my favorite ways to have fun with my style is by pattern mixing.  This is when you mix unexpected patterns together and make them work into a great cohesive outfit.

Here I paired a camo print with a spotted print and although they are very different patterns they work together.

One of the easiest ways to start with pattern mixing is by sticking with the same color scheme.  For this look I stayed in the neutral + brown tones which made the whole outfit more cohesive.  I paired this camo ruffle top with this spotted skirt + structured bag.  Not only are both prints in the same color scheme but they are also very different styles of prints which allows them to blend more together.

If you're new to pattern mixing some great prints to start with are leopard, polka dots, florals or stripes.  They are very common prints and are easiest to mix.  Leopard for example is a very neutral print that can act more as the base and can be paired with a more wild or adventurous print.  Florals and stripes  are two prints that actually go really great together too!

To complete this look I added a boho style rancher hat and espadrille sandals keeping the accessories neutral + toned down to not overpower the look.  When pattern mixing another great style tip is to not go over the top.  Stick to two patterns and then stay neutral with the rest of the look.
