Hi friends!!
I am excited to share with you all about our trip to Hawai'i today! It truly was amazing and I cannot wait to go back.
We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village- we did the timeshare rooms so we have a full kitchen so we like to go to Costco and have most breakfast + lunch at the hotel and then go out to dinner.
Most days we spend at the beach and the pool. Our resort has a couple waterslides, a lagoon and the beach so there’s lots to do. There is even decent snorkeling right out front the beach of our hotel. You can also walk to downtown Waikiki from our hotel.
The Waikiki beach is great for beginner surfing so one day we rented a couple boards. Don’t rent at the beach as it’s really pricey. If you go to the rental shop down the street it’s less than half the price.
We rented a car through Turo and drove around the island. Highly recommend going to north shore! Sharks cove is perfect for snorkeling and there is delicious food trucks across the street for lunch. Also recommend shopping in Haleʻiwa which is the cutest beach town. We’ve also gone paddle boarding there before but didn’t this year.
International marketplace in Waikiki is great for shopping
Restaurant recommendations:
Dukes- definitely get the hula pie wish is delish. Leonard’s bakery is a must for the most amazing Portuguese donuts. Tropical tribe has the best açaí bowls. Rocky Japanese teppan house is always a favorite with the kids since it’s interactive and fun. Arancino on beach walk has amazing Italian food so Rod + I had a date night there. Best shaved ice in Waikiki is definitely Lahaina shaved ice.
This is the first time we’ve been to Hawaii in the Fall and the weather was perfect. It sprinkled slightly here and there but overall very warm and didn’t even need a sweater at night. The water was also warm so I was able to spend so much time in the water just hanging with the kids.
Overall, it was an amazing trip. If you have never been to Hawai'i, I highly recommend.
